Hopefully you’ve got most of your Christmas shopping done by now. If you don’t, go here immediately. So now, you may be wondering what to wear to holiday dinner, specifically your family holiday dinner. Maybe you’re going to be spending Christmas with your significant other’s family, or visiting a relative’s home for celebrations. Either way, it’s important to dress appropriately; plus, it’s the holidays. There’s no better time to throw on a cute dress.
I was immediately drawn to the Nineties Drew Dress by Free People because of its festive red colour. Even if you usually gravitate towards an all-black ensemble, it’s fun (and much more cheerful) to throw on some colour or a great print at Christmas. This one has both.
The slightly sheer and stretchy babydoll dress features a blue velvet flower design. I love the billowy three-quarter-length sleeves, the slightly tapered waist, and prim knee-length hem. The piece de resistance has got to be the back. The deep scoop neck is unexpected and very elegant.
If it’s warm where you are, maybe you can get away with a pair of over-the-knee socks and a tailored trench over top for a mod-inspired look. If you’re planning on a white Christmas, I’d suggest throwing on woolly grey tights underneath and a vintage-inspired fur-trimmed coat over top.
The Nineties Drew Dress is $111 over at Free People.
