Here’s another gem found via Percussion Lab. For this week’s Mixtape Mondays, I came across Gilles Wasserman’s “The sky was orange” mix. Having found out that Wasserman (real identity – Zile Maravic) is a member of the NYC collective PART, the mix title seems like something Wasserman would play on a borrowed loft or rooftop. The nomadic PART throws multimedia events everywhere from sail boats to tea houses entertaining guests with sound and visual performances. Anyhoo, have a listen at the eleven track mix and enjoy your countdown till Christmas. Oh and if Staceyann Chin’s spoken voice bits of the intro comes across as annoying, skip past the warm up to the 5 minute mark. I guarantee things will get much better from there and onward.
