Fitted Fridays: Holiday Gift Guide 2012

In addition to our usual top ten sneakers/footwear and men’s guide, this year we have included a “Fitted Fridays” 59Fifty and snapback top ten list.  Below I’ve listed ten caps that I’ve coveted, may or may not have blogged about, but more importantly are still accessible.

Frank’s Chop Shop Razor Script Snapback
Here’s a snapback I mentioned about not too long ago. Frank’s Chop Shop delivers a baseball themed logo snapback complete with contrasting visor and crown.  Personally I’m sold by the choice of metallic raised logo, but every little detail really makes this cap stand out.  Available at at the webshop.  [Link]

Brixton “Clark III” Hat
Brixton may be known for their fedoras and flatcaps, but their snapback selections are definitely worth looking into as well.  The “Clark III” hat features a corduroy body, leather patch logo and sizing strap.  Above is a tonal tan colorway.  But if you’re looking for a bit of contrast, the snapback is also available in charcoal or black.  The tan can be is available at Active Ride Shop while charcoal and black can be purchased directly at Brixton. LEADERS1354 Dogear 59Fifty
In previous years I was all about dogear fitteds for the winter. While I’ve paying more attention to corduroy this year, the above fitted by LEADERS1354′s definitely stood out to me.  The cap starts off with a black wool base, but our eyes can’t help but be drawn to the oversized logo and camoflage dogears.  The 59Fifty is available at LEADERS1354′s webshop. ELM The Script Fitted
Theres not much to say about the above fitted cap by The ELM Company other than its rad.  I’m blown away by the script type selection and selective usage of army cam along the visor, button cap and part of the visor.  Call me a gourmand, but this hat also make me want to go out and stock up on black and white cookies.  Minus the camo, anyone else see the resemblance?  Available here at Karmaloop. Play Cloths Diamond Jack 59Fifty
I’m usually drawn to Play Cloths caps and snapback due to the numerous ways they can reskin their mascot, Jack.  For this particular 59Fifty, the logo involves chains, diamonds and of course Jack’s head all done in white raised embroidery.  Adding more contrast is the gray flannel button and visor.  Available at Hat Club. Quintin Co. “Asher” Snapback”
I’ll be honest, the Pendleton digi-navajo print look is just not my cup of tea. Recently I’ve been persuaded otherwise with the above snapback by Quintin Co.  The Asher features a black melton wool crown and woven label.  But what really stands out is the multi-colored navajo visor.  Available in charcoal/red and black/blue. Cast Shadow Woodsmen “Creme” Fitted
The Woodsmen “Creme” fitted by Cast Shadow was one of my picks back in August.  One it was probably the first time I’ve seen a Cast Shadow product thats not in greyscale.  The five panel fitted features leather visor matched with a leather logo embroidery and nature themed screen printed crown.  More branding can be found on the back of the cap by way of Cast Shadow’s quill label tag. ELM “The Messner” Snapback
Named after famed Italian mountaineer, Reinhold Messner, the Messner Snapback by The ELM Company is another winter friendly cap. The snapback features a melton wool base and is contrasted with a suede visor and crown button.  Logo-wise, the cap features a coat of arms with the letters to the company strategically placed between two pick axes.  Available at Karmaloop. Rebel8 “H.W.T.C” 59Fifty
Like any brand, Rebel8 can be a hit or miss.  This 59Fifty is a hit in every aspect. The “H.W.T.C.s” (short for Heavy Weighs The Crown) base is nicely texturized with herringbone.  Meanwhile the two-tone crest is rich in detail and complements the herringbone crown quite well.  Unfortunately, due its good looks, this fitted is also sold out.  However, the equally awesome denim snapback version of this cap is available at Rebel8. Benny Gold “Homerun” 59Fifty
Making up for a lack of actual team sports New Era products, the final fitted in this holiday guide is Benny Gold’s “Home Run” 59Fifty fitted cap.  The two tone fitted features a revised raised lock logo embroidery on the front of the crown, Benny’s signature paper plane on front right panel and New Era’s flag on the front left.  Taking place of the “MLB” (if this were an official ballcap), is Benny’s text logo on the backside.  The “Homerun” 59Fifty is available in three colorways.
