Returning to the topic of emerging fashion labels, let’s talk about the London label that is Fanny and Jessy. According to their Twitter bio, the design duo behind the brand “create clothing with a signature sexed-up tomboy aesthetic” and I knew that I would have to check out more of their designs.
Being both friends and business partners isn’t easy for some, but for Frances Usher and Jessie Jobst, it’s obvious that the duo’s relationship hasn’t suffered one bit. After meeting in their first class ever at the London College of Fashion, and working with designers such as Nova Dando and Jean Charles de Castelbajac, the girls knew that they wanted to work together. Come 2009, Fanny and Jessy graduated and subsequently decided to launch their own label. Enter Fanny and Jessy.
In such a short time, Fanny and Jessy has already garnered much attention and their clothing has been worn by performers including Lady Gaga, M.I.A., Kele Okereke, and Rihanna. And just by looking at three out of the four mentioned, I can totally see why Fanny and Jessy is perfect for them.
