Like music, I’m always keen on finding out about what will be the next cool label in fashion. There are always so many emerging labels but there’s always that one that you know will become popular. Feast your eyes on The Fashion Club.
Founded this year by designer Heidi Leung and blogger Lulu Chang, The Fashion Club is womenswear brand whose name references the notion of fashion being some sort of elite club yet it’s also something that shouldn’t be taken so seriously. Leung and Chang met during their time at UC Berkeley in California and bonded over their love of street culture and fashion.
In the time before The Fashion Club, Heidi Leung studied at the prestigious Central Saint Martins and debuted her spring/summer 2012 collection at London Fashion Week. She’s also had experience with famed British labels including Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane. Lulu Chang is the blogger behind Lulu and Your Mom, which is a favourite of mine. Chang’s style is minimalist and sporty, and totally up my alley. I always look forward to her posts, even if they make my shopaholic tendencies flare up…
With their mutual love of fashion intact, the pair banded together to create The Fashion Club. The debut capsule collection for the fall 2012 season contains seven über-fashionable and luxe pieces that are influenced by menswear. Of course, the pieces are created from luxurious fabrics like cashmere, wool, and Italian mohair. And best yet? The collection retails for $250 to $1000, which is pretty decent for that kind of quality.
If you’re interested in getting your hands on something from The Fashion Club, you best act fast when the collection goes on sale since the pieces are produced in limited quality.
