You might not need to pull on heavy winter boots, but it’s still too cool out to go sockless or break out your favourite open-toe shoes. A nice pair of sneakers is my shoe of choice to face the always-changing weather between winter and spring.
These Vans kicks need no real convincing. Designed by Japanese painter/illustrator/graphic designer Taka Hayashi, these super special Vans Vault kicks are the perfect mix between ankle boot and sneaker. It features buttery brown leather, cream sole with detailing around the toe, and classic wool Pendleton print around the ankle. The exposed cream stitching gives it an almost moccasin feel, and the matching toffee-hued laces pull it all together.
While these kicks would look awesome paired with some dark-rinse drainpipe denim, a wooly sweater, and oversized utility jacket, I’m thinkin’ that they’d looking equally as nice mixed and matched with skirts and dresses paired over opaque grey or black tights or thigh-high stockings. When it gets a little warmer, switch up those tights with some woolly ankle socks, and throw on a denim jacket for an Americana look.
The Taka Hayashi for Vans kicks are currently on sale at Gravity Pope for $119.99.
