I’m normally one for reasonably sedate but stylish footwear but with the holiday season approaching at breakneck speed, even I can see the need for a flashy pair of shoes for parties and events.
Pretty sure the pair pictured above will do the trick. These Jimmy Choo Kershaw crystal-embellished mesh pumps come in navy and are covered in sparkly crystals. With the five inch heel, your legs will look amazing and these stunning shoes would overshadow most dresses. I would stop there, but most of us aren’t dropping $1,700 on a pair of shoes that can only be brought out a few times a year.
For $80, visit your nearest Aldo store a snag a pair of Renova heels. They sparkle too. Not as sexy, but flirty, fun and a great pair to throw on with a holiday frock. Heck, at $80 you don’t need to feel guilty for trading them in for a new pair next year. These are synthetic and have a rubber sole, a helpful detail for icy sidewalks. The toe is a nice shape as well, not super pointed but not round.
Love the glittery shoe but not feeling the retro colour? Check out the Pedro Garcia Xio pumps, shimmery, silver and featuring a comfy rounded toe. These have a leather sole and at $395 are a better quality then the Aldo heels. I am partial to silver glitter myself.
Miu Miu also makes a point of breaking out the sparkle with two toned heels. The straps across the toe shimmer like mad, but the bright yellow brings a fresh look and some much needed relief from the shine. I really love the lemon pumps, but they’re also available in coral and silver. The chunky heels are a nice change from the typical skinny heel and the open toe sets it apart.
Want something more holiday themed? J Crew offers the Viv pump in henna. It’s a rosy red, perfect to celebrate Christmas (too early?).Love the bow. If sparkles aren’t your thing, look for a loud detail for your shoes. Anything over the top goes.
With that in mind, Edmundo Castillo presents the Renata pump. Vertical bows were big for dresses not that long ago, and not the look is appearing on heels. Love the idea, not so fond of the execution on these (blue snake print? Yikes). Still, the bow is a fun detail and love the two-tone detail on it.
Versace has a hot pair of white heels with an ankle strap and funky toe feature that I also really love. The detail on the side of these are really great. White shoes aren’t as ubiquitous during the holiday season, so go that route to stand out.
