If you’ve been searching for that one dress that’ll take you through fall/winter 2011, this one might be it. A little bit goth, a little bit dark angel, and a whole lot of drama, this sheer maxi dress by UNIF picks up on some of the season’s hottest trends, while being anything but ordinary.
UNIF, which stands for Ur Not In Fashion, is a Los Angeles-based clothing line by DJ-turned-designer Eric Espinoza, who just started hand-dying, hand-cutting, and screen-printing cotton Ts in his backyard. The label is still best-known for its cheeky Ts sportin’ some controversial designs using some of the world’s most iconic symbols (Mickey Mouse, the Chanel logo, etc.). However, for fall/winter ’11, UNIF is taking things one step further with a punk-meets-urban collection of highly wearable womenswear.
The Forget It dress will actually do just the opposite. The black, sheer maxi-dress feature a high slit up the front of the dress as well as a graduated hemline that gets longer towards the back. The top half of the dress is pretty simple and classic: double spaghetti straps and soft V-neck. The dress also features a removal black camisole; however, we’d suggest donning a black bodysuit and nothing else underneath. Throw on a short black slip if you’d prefer the coverage, although this kind of dress is not for the timid anyways.
The UNIF Forget It Dress sells for $126 over at Need Supply Co.
