Online shops are a dime a dozen, so when an online shop carries good merch at affordable prices (and a fair shipping policy to us living in the Great White North), I take note.
I found out about L.A.-based Mikkat Market last spring when my fashionable sister copped a few pieces for herself. When I checked out the website, I was definitely impressed by what was in stock (mix-and-match pieces to fill your wardrobe), and the fit and quality of the pieces were surprising for the prices.
Here’s a piece that you can wear right now, but will end up in heavy rotation come fall/winter as well. Lace tops are generally special, but this one is extra fetching thanks to the delicate scallop edging at the hem.
To avoid looking like your grandma’s doily-covered dinner table, avoid wearing a white tank under the white lace top. Instead, opt for a black or any solid-hued tank or bandeau for a modern take on the vintage-inspired look.
In the summer, tone down neon pink, yellow, and blue tanks or bandeaus by slipping the lace top over it. When fall rolls around, pick darker colors (black, greys, taupe, maroon) for a romantic, dramatic feel. Pair this tank with everything from a pair of denim cutoffs and neutral-toned flatforms right now, to a floor-grazing maxi skirt, chunky-heeled clogs, a cashmere cardigan, and nubbly scarf when the weather gets cooler.
The lace scallop top retails for $42 at Mikkat Market.
