Pentax recently picked up two awards for their medium-format DSLR camera, the 645D. This camera has a 44 x 35mm CCD image sensor which delivers images with approximately 40 megapixels. To celebrate this win, Pentax is releasing a 645D Japan version. This special edition of the camera is treated with a Japanese technique called urushi, which is a traditional Japanese lacquer technique that’s usually done for traditional table ware. The process is a painstaking one as it requires many coats and due to this hand process, you can be sure that each one is unique. Orders for this camera will start on July 20th and go through September 20th. More info here.
