For those who hate the romper/playsuit/jumpsuit, I have some bad news for you—it ain’t over. Another summer is here, and once again the one-piece wear-all is still going strong. Blame it on laziness, but in sunscreen-required weather, no girl wants to bother mixing and matching various separates. A one-piece is easy—and it’s just damn fun!
This crochet and suede romper is by London label Des Moines. The womenswear brand was founded in 2001 by the same duo (Nat Colom and Diego Tellez) behind The Lazy Ones. Des Moines is all about experimenting with mixing vintage finds and various fabrics all into the same look.
Which takes us to this “dressy” romper. The top half is white crochet and features a ruffle detail on the front, with two ties and a deep-V in the back. The bottom half is faux suede (read: polyester), which makes it luxe in look, but light in touch.
While the belt (pictured) is not included, belting the romper with a skinny belt ties the whole look together. Throw on a pair of wooden wedges and a cropped denim jacket or shrunken blazer to complete the look.
The Des Moines romper is available for $89 at Pixie Market.
