For ladies who can’t decide whether they wanna cop a mini or maxi dress to live in this summer comes this half-and-half version by Aussie label Evil Twin.
Evil Twin is the brainchild of Jodie Mckenzie, who started designing in 2005. After hoofin’ her design skills for four years at Mink Pink, Mckenzie decided to launch her own label, thus Evil Twin’s debut collection landed in February 2009. Evil Twin is a darker, dressier take on streetwear. Each collection has a rock ‘n’ roll, ready-for-anything vibe to it with strong gothic undertones.
The Appetite Maxi is a perfect example. Mckenzie has upped the ante on what could be just a simple, classic heather grey maxi. Not only does the dress feature an asymmetrical hemline, but it also has a sheer black triangular insert in the back, creating a fishtail effect.
This dress is long (like 53″ from the shoulder to back hem long), so those of us who aren’t models will have to wear a pair of heels or platforms to keep the dress from dragging along the floor. But because this dress is dramatic enough all by itself, it needs very little else in terms of accessories. Throw on a cropped denim jacket for cooler summer nights, and you’re good to go.
The Evil Twin Appetite Maxi Dress is available at Need Supply Co.
