After what seemed like the longest winter ever, tank top season is finally here. While I’m all for stockpiling staples, like basic black, white, and colorful tanks of the spaghetti strap and racerback variety, I like to throw into the mix two or three special tanks each summer. A lil’ sumthin’ sumthin’ to spice up the ol’ wardrobe.
I’ve got to admit, I became a bit enamored by this black and white lips tank top by Argentinean label Ay Not Dead as soon as I saw it. The swingy, cropped trapeze cut is a total throwback to the ’80s—so is the print, but there’s also something modern (or mod) about pairing this top with other neutrals (like the belted camel-colored menswear-inspired trousers, shown above).
The cotton tank is a breezy, wrinkle-free choice for hot, summer days, whether you’re hittin’ up an outdoor concert (with vintage denim cutoffs and kicks) or going out for a night on the town (with a bandage mini or of-the-moment ankle-grazing accordion maxi and sky-high wedge heels).
The Ay Not Dead lips tank top is available at Pixie Market for $68.
