Another fancy fashion awards. Another opportunity to judge, judge, judge. This one funded by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and Vogue to support up and coming American designers in an effort to something something something something… Onto the fun stuff – what they wore!
Wintour was OBVIOUSLY inspired by my Wei Up Close post from last week. I can’t believe she reads my shit. It’s very encouraging as a writer, you know. Hey, girl, hey!~
Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen
The fierce Olsen twins were dressed the same but, also, not! My mind is half blown. Both donned different heavy black furs, different maxi skirts and the same (but different!) leather purses with opposing textures. So hot and… cool.
Love the dress! You know she wore a white bra on purpose. I know because I, too, pull that shit all the time. Forever21, please make a knock-off version and sell only to me. Thank you.
Hey, Ed! You are no longer on set. So you can stop pretending to rub your fingers, wipe that smoldering Chuck expression off your face and stand up right like a human being. Even though I’m not too fond of you I must say you are the only one who can wear that outfit and appear normal.
Mulligan’s dress is not her best and I would have personally chosen another pair of shoes. However, she still looked elegant as ever in this deep burgundy. Fun fact: Mulligan was apparently called on her cell while she was attending this awards event with the news that she won Daisy Buchanan’s role in the movie adaptation of The Great Gatsby! Perfect fit for the character, is she not?
Carolina Herrera Jr & Carolina Herrera
It’s always a bad thing when your mom looked better than you on the red carpet. Although, if they swapped clothes Carolina Sr would still look better. I know, it’s the hair! The daughter, on the other hand, had something Amish going on. People, take notes.
Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin & Richard Chai
My favorite on-screen couple looked like they could have popped a few chill pills. Moyer, who are you kidding with that skinny scarf? Are frumpy suits trending right now? Designer Richard Chai needs to check himself before he wrecks himself.
Yaya Dacosta & Christian Cota
I still remember very clearly how Yaya’s boobs look like from The Kids Are All Right. It’s all I picture when I see her now. This dress designed by Cota is medium. Probably because I can’t zoom out from her cleavage. Cota dressed very chic, very handsome and very look at Yaya’s bosoms!
Zac Posen & Kim Kardashian
Posen’s Egyptian inspired dress looked regal and perfect on Kardashian. It matched perfectly with her porcelain skin and slicked-back dark hair. Posen himself appeared to be absolutely polished in his soft pink tie and well fitted suit.
Saved the best for last, as always. No matter what event it is Chung manages to stick to her personal style and remain consistent in taste. Liking the stripper heels that she paired with high-waist dress shorts and simple crisp blouse.
