First and foremost, Happy New Year everyone. For this New Years Eve we were fortunate enough to hold an event with Danse Contact and one our good buddies Eric Zee at the J Lounge here in Vancouver.

If you were able to make it to this sold out party then you know that the venue had initial troubles getting everyone in. Apparently the line reached around the block with people waiting to get in. We sincerely apologize if you were stuck in the line-up for any length of time, we were trying to push the venue to let everyone in quicker. But due to security checks and a slow coat check it was difficult. BUT, that didn’t ruin the evening at all, that was just one minor blip as you folks made this one of the best parties we’ve ever thrown or attended.

We had Mark Reyes warm the crowd up initially with some sweet fine soul and hip-hop and then U-Tern came on and dropped everything and anything imaginable to keep the crowd continuously dancing into the New Year. Eric Zee and Mark Reyes then took over and did some tandem work on four turntables to bring it home. We were slated to open to 4am, never did we actually expect people to stay til 4am, but that you did and you kept dancing, which put huge smiles on our faces to see everyone enjoying themselves.

I had the dubious task of going around handing out beads to the ladies and snapping pictures of all the attendees, which I have to say was ridiculously fun and funny. The vibes were sooo fuckin’ good that night and while everybody partied hard, everyone was on their best behavior which made our jobs so much easier. So on behalf of Danse Contact, Eric Zee and Killahbeez we THANK YOU VANCOUVER!
