Fingerless gloves may be the winter accessory du jour. Not only are they effortlessly chic, they’re also extremely practical (hello, texting!). With so many to choose from this season, designer Lauren Urstadt has created a pair that stands out from the rest: Meet the Fingerless Chain Gloves.
Known for her downtown chic leather goods and luxurious knits, Lauren Urstadt spent most of the ’90s designing for labels like Kate Spade and Betsy Johnson before opening her own eponymous boutique in 2008. The New York-based designer is known for putting a modern twist on otherwise standard winter wear.
Take the Fingerless Chain Gloves, for instance. These gloves not only keep your hand wrapped up in buttery soft black leather, but the chain detail around the wrist really takes it to the next level. The opening to the gloves are cut quite low, with the front cut into a V-shape, showing off the gunmetal chain fringe.
The gloves are great for everyday use (for a dramatic look, go all black: black leggings tucked into black over-the-knee boots and black leather bomber or motorcycle jacket), but can also be worn in the evening to toughen up and sharpen your holiday dresses. If you’re going to do that, just keep the rest of your accessories and jewelry in check so you don’t end up looking like Too Hot Not to Cop 2009 overkill!
The gloves retail for around $125 and are sold HERE.
