Forget practicality, flounces, puffs and the like: think structure. Alice and Olivia have taken it to new heights with this creation, a black satin bustier dress with a sculpted asymmetrical hem that I am just loving. Although I strongly suspect you would not be able to sit down in this dress. Ever. The idea of structural dresses isn’t a new one, but they are just so fascinating to look at and contemplate. The simplicity of the colour and the upper portion of the dress really helps to set off that crazy hem. It’s actually probably a quite flattering style because it covers the hips nicely. Or at least distracts away from them.
