Stefan Buchberger’s Stackable Refrigerator is a great way to partition away food of different palates in a shared space. Should one roommate be a vegetarian, he or she can have their own personal fridge to store away their food and beverage. How the roommates want to handle stacking order is entirely up to them and the individual fridges can be reskinned as a form of labeling types of food or just flat out identification. One aspect that Buchberger pointed out is the mobility of the fridge. Should a roommate leave, he or she can simply take their fridge with them and stack on the base unit of another apartment. The only catch is the next dwelling must have a stackable fridge as well.
