Over the years I’ve become fascinated with the world of papercraft.  And although I have yet to try and make anything complex, I can’t help but appreciate the effort put into a lot of pieces.  One fine example would be Wataru Itou’s paper castle.  After four years, his piece, “Umi no Ue no Oshiro” which translates to A Castle on the Ocean is finally complete.  Currently displaying at Uminohotaru in Tokyo, Itou’s papercraft castle has an immense amount of detail including fully functional lighting and a train that moves along the tracks.  Amazing just isn’t the right term to describe this piece.
