For the season’s must-have denim, we can look to Hollywood “it” girls, who are always in-the-know about what labels, fits, and washes are hot. This year, denim newbie Current/Elliot comes out on top when it comes to finding the perfect pair.

Current/Elliot is designed by stylists Emily Current and Meritt Elliot. When the duo couldn’t find the perfect jean, they began picking up vintage denim and tailoring the pieces to fit a modern frame. And when Emily and Meritt wore their one-of-a-kind tailored vintage pieces to stylings, celebrities took notice and started asking for their own pair.

After perfecting the season’s perfect boyfriend jean, Current/Elliot is out with an array of premium denim shorts for the summer. Styles include the Boyfriend Short, the Roll Short, and the Fontaine Short. All styles come in a selection of washes as well as levels of distress.

The Roll Short (shown above) features a five-pocket styling and a single button closure. Distress and shredded patches are placed throughout. What’s particularly great about this jean is that it can be worn with the hem cuffed or can be rolled down to reveal a frayed hem.
