Before hitting the festival, everyone had mentioned to me that I should check out Gogol Bordello as their live show is insane. Well got news for everyone. The craziest show wasn’t theirs, it was from a group by the name of Monotonix hailing from Tel Aviv. These guys were set to perform on the 2nd stage at the festival, but instead of doing, you know the regular thing and setting up their gear on stage, they set their gear up on the grass. From there the madness ensued as the crowd formed a circle around the band while they were playing. The lead singer had zero regard for his body and threw it everywhere and I mean everywhere, crowd surfing, jumping off of stantions, setting up a drum set on top, yeah you read that right, on top of the crowd and playing the drums. The shit was epic and I have to admit almost overwhelming. These guys definitely were definitely one of the highlights of the weekend. Check them out when they stop through your city.
