If I ever found myself in Chandler, Arizona, the Heart Attack Grill would pique my curiosity as a tourist. Recently, having seen this video, I’ve become amazed by the concept of this “honest restaurant.” By honest, the restaurant staff won’t hold back to tell you their burgers and fries will kill you. Or that the secret ingredient is lard and lots of it. The burgers range from single bypass to a quadruple bypass. Keep in mind that a Quadruple Bypass Burger is roughly 8000 calories.
The whole hospital theme really adds attraction and sets itself apart from any other burger shop in the area. The general manager, Dr. Jon, wears a medical gown and makes his rounds checking up on patrons. The nurses wrap hospital wristbands onto customers to identify their orders and gladly point them to the Flatliner Fries bar. Dr. Jon makes it clear that no salad bar, lite beer, diet soda nor lettuce will be found at his establishment. Another unique service as seen in the video is getting wheelchaired out after successfully finishing a Quadruple Bypass Burger.
A visit to the Heart Attack Grill is paradise to those with a voracious appetite. And for those that weigh in at above 350 pounds, the restaurant extends an offer of unlimited free burgers all day, every day. I can’t say I have a voracious diet and I favor Coke Zero over regular Coke. But the Heart Attack Grill does pique my interest.
