Latest Obsession: Giada De Laurentiis
Okay so I bet y’all are wondering, Giada De Laurentiis? wtf?. I’ve been working from home the last few months and straight up my obsession with Giada has grown increasingly more and more with each episode I watch of hers. So here’s a the brief bio on her, basically she’s a personal chef turned tv personality and has a show on the Food Network called “Everyday Italian”, which by the way is on every weekday at 9am and 2pm PST for those in Canada, check your local listings if you’re in the US, trust me its worth it.
So the reason for the obsession is pretty obvious. The women is friggin’ gorgeous. She’s stylish, likable, and damn it, pardon my language, but she’s got a great pair of…eyes. Yeah eyes, okay something else as well. Watching her shake items, giving food items rough chops, to simple just bending over, is nothing short of amazing, which has inspired me to write about this obsession. I have been for the last few weeks messaging our own Mona Alice about how glorious Giada is looking in the current episodes. In one particular episode, she was talking about stuffed tomatoes, totally took my imagination to a whole.nutha.level.
Annnnnnyways, she’s a pretty great chef, her recipes simply look stunning, easy and delicious. But one thing that does concern me with Giada, and I have this same problem even after working in the restaurant industry for 13 years, is her knife-work is HOOOORIBLE. I cringe every time I watch her cutting something and they show close-ups on the fingers, she has a habit of not leading with her knuckles instead, leaving her soft pretty looking finger vulnerable to being cut. Yikes! So please Giada, lead with your knuckles, I’ll do it if you do baby girl. Okay that was mildly creepy, but I was laughing in my head as I wrote that. Giada, if you read this, holler at your boy, would love to do an interview with you. And that my friends is my latest obsession, I’m going to try and do this on a weekly basis and share the love with other writers on the site that want to talk about their latest obsessions.
