Super Bowl Sunday gave us more than just a football game; it gave a glimpse into this year’s movie schedule with the trailer premier of G.I. Joe! The long anticipated live-action film based off the comics, cartoons and toys of our youth is the latest in a line of film franchises that are attempting to re-inspire our childhood imaginations.
So what is the fascination with “The Real American Hero?”
It could be the cool weapons, the awesome names or the vehicles that always seem to fire lasers out of the most convenient spots – but let’s be honest; it’s the ninjas. For years Joe fans such as myself have longed for a answer to the great debate.
Storm Shadow versus Snake Eyes
Well according to some movie spoilers, this question will finally be answered. I’m sure there are other parts of this movie that “could” be interesting, but I don’t really think anyone cares when its all said and done. We want to see a ninja battle to settle it all. I mean, who hasn’t already worked out this battle 300 times in their head as a child? Storm Shadow flying through the air kicking wildly and slashing Cobra Commander’s minions with his katana’s when suddenly Snake Eyes pops out and they square off.
Let’s be honest – with Channing Tatum leading the way, you KNOW that this film could rival From Justin to Kelly, but you also KNOW that you won’t be able to turn down seeing the potential battle for the ages when Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes finally get to rumble. Knowing is half the battle – G.I. Joe.
as a young child i remember dumping out the contents of my pencil box (remember those? do they still have ‘em?) flipping it upside down and sticking a pen or pencil in each corner. Stealing string from my dad i would create a wrestling ring. this is where most of my Storm Shadow vs Snake Eyes battles took place. It was always a tainted match-up though cus eventually the Ultimate Warrior would come out and beat the hell out of Storm Shadow. Not sure what his beef was with Storm Shadow, one can assume he said something his mama.
I don’t have high hopes for this movie.
The trailer really was not all that impressive.
Sienna Miller looks fine and Snake Eyes looks great but I’m not getting myself amped for this movie.
Enjoyed the new transformers 2 trailer a lot more.
