Newly released is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 ($500). This point-and-shoot camera features a Leica DC Vario-Summicron lens, but not only that it actually looks very similar to the Leica M8 minus the price tag, as the M8 generally goes for about $4,500 - $5,000. The Panasonic Lumix is loaded with 10.1 megapixels and can capture photos up to ISO 3200 at full resolution and has the ability to record HD video. This camera is definitely worth picking up, although I’d probably wait for the reviews to start rolling in first. This would be a great alternative to my Nikon D60, for those times when I need to go compact.

I’ve heard good things about this camera, even though it’s not released on the market yet.
I’ve tried the LX-1 and plan to buy this LX-3 simply because trust Panasonic as a good brand and for the 24mm, shooting RAW, and want a camera that is high tech but doesn’t cost over $1000.00
Panasonic, if you are reading this, release the camera on the market already!!!
