Apple announced today at the WWDC, that the 3rd generation iPhone will be available in 22 out of the eventual 70 countries -including Canada and the US - on July 11th. I dorked out this morning, and watched the news feed from macrumorslive.com with great anticipation. Feel free to do your own BlackBerry VS iPhone analysis, but here are the top scores for my obvious preference.
The handsets will be available from Rogers and Fido in black 8G ($199) and black/or white 16G ($299). Twice as fast at half the price? Whoohoo! The GPS is built in - location information comes cell towers, Wi-Fi and GPS, and is displayed by Google Maps which shows local search, traffic info, and live tracking, navigation etc. The iPhone 2.0 software includes support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and runs the hundreds of third party applications already built with the recently released iPhone SDK.
I’m already addicted to my MacBook Pro and my iPod, so I am stoked to add the Apple iPhone to my growing techno fruit basket.
Check out pictures of the backing after the jump.
