Timberland recently released their Summer 08 footwear line. The summer line consists of 3 pairs of shoes: the Rippler Chukka, Switchfoot Slip-on and Cruisemaster II boat shoe. Of all three, I’m definitely feeling the canvas slip ons and Nike Consider-esque chukkas. The nubuck material on the boat shoes kinda take away from the summer feel. But regardless, all three pairs are a good look coming from Timberland. More photos on the back.

The Cruisemaster II brings classic Timberland into a boat shoe. It features a premium full-grain leather upper for comfort, durability and abrasion resistance. A rubber outsole provides supreme traction and durability.
The Switchfoot Slip-on combines full-grain leather with organic cotton canvas; the moisture wicking fabric lining is made from recycled PET. The outsole is made from 30% recycled rubber and is not a full cupsole, making the shoe much more flexible.
The Rippler Chukka has a cool eco-story because it was made in an earth-conscious way; using 30% recycled rubber in the outsole and 100% organic canvas. The canvas is water-repellent with a non-toxic waxed finish. This deconstructed style is extremely lightweight, and the outsoles are incredibly flexible. They are shipped with two laces – tonal leather and colorful cotton – allowing versatility for the wearer.
