How do you kickoff summer the right way? With the Annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade, duh.
In it’s 25th year, the Mermaid Parade will be celebrating it’s Silver Anniversary with a myriad of people in everything sand, surf and sea this Saturday, June 23rd at 2pm. One of the most colorful and over the top parades yet, thousands come out to watch as beautiful men and women strut some of the most intoxicating and elaborate costumes to dazzle your inner creature. Make sure to stop by Nathan’s for a dog but not before you ride the infamous croaker of a roller coaster, the Cyclone. This is rumored to be the biggest parade in history…so bring your pasties and camera for an unforgettable dose of pure kaleidoscopic adventure.
The after party will be held in the historic Childs Restaurant Building on the Boardwalk in Coney Island starting at 6pm, $10 advance $15 at the door.
By train take the D, Q N or F train to Stillwell Avenue.
